Biography

Lakeview/Southport Corridor — CC Bella is an exquisite line of one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories for women who are fashionable and enjoy expressing their individuality. Designer Catherine Chamberlain makes each piece by hand adding her own stylish flare, which is whimsical and sophisticated. She creates unique items that are trendy and hip, yet classic and timeless.

Interest in fashion is a family tradition for Ms. Chamberlain. Her great-great grandfather owned a sewing manufacturing business specializing in men’s dress shirts; her grandfather’s manufacturing company focused on women’s and girl’s clothing; and her father eventually joined the family business. Catherine’s mother, a true fashionista, made sure her two daughters were always beautifully dressed.

Born and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Ms. Chamberlain moved to Chicago to begin a career in communications after graduating from Appalachian State University. Catherine enjoyed six years rising through the ranks at two major broadcast service companies, but she longed to follow her passion for all things fashion.

After making jewelry for friends and family for birthday and holiday gifts, Ms. Chamberlain held her own trunk show in 2002, which proved to be huge success. Encouraged by the strong showing, Catherine decided to leave the communications industry to design jewelry full-time.

Catherine Chamberlain named her company to reflect her personality as well as her design philosophy. The letters “CC” are Ms. Chamberlain’s initials; “Bella” means “Beautiful” in Italian, and also provides a tribute to Catherine’s late grandfather, Ulysses Gambella.

CC Bella pieces can be worn depending on your mood, casually dressed or stepping out on the town with elegant evening wear. Ms. Chamberlain believes that what a woman wears – and how she chooses to accessorize – reveals who she is and how she feels.
