Beth started Scarlet Designs in 2002 after becoming frustrated trying to find clothing that suited her needs in her corporate real estate career – something timeless yet trendsetting, versatile but vibrant. She wanted clothing to mix and match with pieces she already owned and that would be appropriate in any situation – whether a business meeting, out to lunch with friends, or a black-tie gala.
Beth decided to take the Scarlet Designs philosophy into the special occasion sector in 2006, problem-solving the frustrations voiced by brides and their maids—the age old issue of outfitting a bridal party in a look that is flattering and elegant, but which also can be worn again after the wedding – founding the label Special Occasion Separates by Scarlet Designs.

Originally a violin performance major in college, Lambert changed her studies and in 1991 received her B.S. in Finance from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. She later earned her Masters of Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. A Louisville, Ky., native, she now makes her home in Chicago.
