Since 1997, a finely tailored selection of playfully elegant women’s ready-to-wear (including G1 sportswear, Neesh by DAR separates, Saja day-to-evening, 3J Workshop items, Alara shirts and our private label, “Padmaja”), accessories, bath & beauty indulgences, gourmet delights, home furnishings, stationery, books, etc. layered in vignettes by color, texture and sensibility.

Setting up shop in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago, owner and designer Padmaja Manerikar Maryanski envisioned an environment in which women could step outside of the rush of their daily lives and feel inspired to view and care for themselves in an elegant, respectful manner. Padmaja received her B.F.A. in Printmaking & Fashion Design from Washington University in St. Louis. She built Saffron inc. with a commitment to integrity of design, workmanship and service.
