Bucktown — Roslyn was established in October 2006 by owner Roslyn Dulyapaibul, who graduated with a degree in Textiles and Apparel Management from Cornell University. Upon graduating, Roslyn worked as a merchandiser at both Abercrombie & Fitch and J.Crew for several years before returning to her hometown of Chicago.
Roslyn features collections from both emerging and established designers from NYC, Los Angeles, and Europe and caters to women seeking lines that are sophisticated with an edge. Each collection is highlighted by a framed biography of the designer, describing the history of the label as well as the vision for the season. No more than four pieces of each style is offered to assure exclusivity. A focused assortment is also available for men who are searching for clothes that are best described as refined casual. The rustic interior is created with dark, polished hardwood floors, an exposed brick wall running the length of the store, antiques scattered throughout the space, and filament lightbulbs illuminating the cashwrap area.
